Effective communication in the workplace is one of aspects to be a good leader as Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, UAE columnist said.
“ Effective communication is tied to knowledge and research”, the important thing about communication in your workplace is to know your subject, and what are you going to talk about.
According to Al Qassemi, men and women should have a confidence to work together and women should look for their rights and goals and try to access and achieve them. In addition, Al Qassemi gave some advices about a good communication skills such as when you write the email keep it short, clear and think that people will have it for long time. And he said, write a good things or news but if you have a bad news don’t write them, but find a good environment to say that face to face.
In addition, he encouraged using the social media like Face book and Twitter. About social media users in Arab World he gave some statistics. For example, over 23 million in 2010 were Facebook users and the number is expect to be double this year. And the Twitter users were increasing.
In the end, he said the role of women should not be ignored and the women in last 100 years became a ruler and leader. And about his advices to Zayed University students , he said don’t let any thing to stand in your way, don’t let any one to say that you can’t do it or you can’t achieve your goals.
