Social media play important role in Arab World and it used in the recent protests. 85% of Arabs use internet and more than17,000 are Facebook users.
Arabs use social media to talk about their interests, ideas, and diversity. In Egypt although the Arabic language is the official language, but English is the most language used in the conversation with 38% and than the Arabic 32%. He used Egypt revolution as a example. Egypt faster growing media market in MENA region. Also, Facebook played the key role in anti government protests in Egypt.
He said, social media is important because of people power, speed of information , rights and the freedom. For example, every one has a right to choose or meet anybody he want and the rights should be clear. He added, Arab freedom and liberty trends increased by using social media. He said, research is looking for truth, and get challenges. During the Egypt revolution, people in Egypt use social media looking for their rights. For example looking for salary increase 63%, food subsidies 54%, job creation 46%, and public healthcare 21%.
