Mansour honors Media Award Winners

The 16^th of May 2011, has witnessed the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of Majid’s Youth Media Award in Zayed University. HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed Al Maktoum has attended the ceremony and honored the winners of the award.

Out of 1,666 entries in all five categories, HH honored the winners of the award where the first place in each category won 100,000 Dhs, 50,000 Dhs for the second place, and 30,000 Dhs for the third place.

The closing ceremony was held at the Conference Center at Zayed University on the 16^th of May, where many VIP’s attended such as Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Board Dubai Economic, Bilal Budour Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development Assistant for Cultural Affairs, Marwan Bin Beyat, Director of the Office of His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and the heads of the sponsoring companies Du, Ahmed Siddiqi and Zayed University.  

This year’s youth media award was different from the ones before because it had a new element to it; the Zayed University CCMS collaborated with the organizers to create a YouTube Channel. The team of students interviewed different media people such as Saood Al Kaabi, tv presenter, and Mohammed Saeed Harib, creator of Freej.

The Media Award was launched in 2008 and has grown from three initial categories to five categories by 2011; journalism, video, best broadcaster, photojournalism, and graphic design.
