Elissar Antonios and the Art of Communicating in the Workplace

In the celebration of the 100^th anniversary of International Women’s Day, a conference, organized by Mubadala, the developing company, as the conference is all over to acknowledge women’s role in leadership. Elissar Antonios, managing director of Citi Private Bank’s Chief Officer in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, said effective communication is of a great importance in the work place. 

“Be extremely clear with your message. Be transparent and simple to put the message across” said Mrs. Elissar Antonios.  Mrs. Antonios drew attention to several techniques designed to reinforce methods of communication.   For instance, body language, handling conversations with colleagues, listening to others, as well as offering practical feedbacks and comments.    Competition was another topic that Elissar Antonios stressed.  According to her, people at the workplace field  are bound to interact with the external and internal environment of stakeholders of the organization or company, thus competition among colleague is natural.   “Yes there may be competition! Aligning interest is a thing that could help” she stated.
